Masataka Taketsuru founded Nikka’s second distillery in 1969 – Miyagikyo distillery. Using less peaty malt and distilled in a pot still heated by indirect steam, this soft and luxuriantly fragrant single malt has an elegant fruitiness and a distinctive aroma with a strong Sherry cask influence.
Taste: Light in body, yet full of flavour. Elegantly fruity with sherry-cask character, this is an excellent introduction to Japanese whisky.
